jake is JACK! jack is JAKE!

i got to hang out with my favorite dogs, (next to mine of course) and the rest of my family from CT this past weekend. you like how i put the dogs first? they’re just so great, as you’ll be able to tell from two full posts of almost nothing but them. dogs aside we all had a pretty good time this weekend. it was my grandparent’s 62nd anniversary, so we went out to dinner to celebrate that. other than that pretty much the entire weekend was centered around my cousin’s baby, olivia. i’ve never seen such a smart and funny baby in my life. instead of walking she kinda just bounces around everywhere. i think she learned it from this toy that she has that does the chicken dance. speaking of which, she’s gonna grow to hate all of us someday for playing that song 50 times a day. and 50 might be an understatement.
on friday night mike and i checked out MINI-KISS, which was supposed to be a KISS cover band made up of all uh…little people. i should be able to call them midgets, since i’m one of them. still not sure why that would be offensive, but whatever. we were kinda disappointed, ’cause they didn’t even play any instruments. it was just three guys holding cardboard cut-outs of guitars, dancing around while a greatest hits album was playing in the background. and yet these guys seemed to have packed the place. everyone loved them. not only that, but they’re going on tour with a perfect circle, playing huge arenas. maybe i should start taking advantage of being vertically challenged. how does a solo folk act called mini-nick drake sound? eh…doesn’t really have the same flow. i’ll have to work on it. i finally picked up some strings for the banjo, so pretty soon i actually should be folkin’ it up. ok, enough with the super corny jokes for tonight.
lyrics: oh penelope, are you filled with air? swallowed oxygen that makes you float up? is it dropsy? will your lungs swell? it’s depressing me to see you struggle…
i’m treading water with my oars. glass galeons anchored, ocean floors. i’m diving down with all my gear in search of treasure, para me corazon.
take you to the forest, let you feel the raindrops falling down seeping through your redscales. eliminate the faucet. eliminate the need for water. replace it with a safe shell.
don’t wanna see you floating upside down, on the top of the bowl when i come around to visit you. don’t wanna see you floating upside down. no girl, need you there, need you there, need you there. ooh release that air. (i’m treading water with my oars. glass galeons anchored, ocean floors. i’m diving down with all my gear. in search of treasure, para me corazon.)
